In this time of the year, while the economy is in stress and people are running around in circles trying to survive in this challenging world a special day like today has been set aside to observe the meaning of love on an international level.
On this day, February 14, the United States of America and Canada celebrate Saint Valentine’s day. But, what is the meaning of love? What is the meaning of Valentine’s day? According to research, Saint Valentine is a traditional day for sending a romantic gesture or affection to somebody that you love. Saint Valentine’s Day has been honored since 496 AD by many people around the world but unfortunately the media and advertising agencies have focused on selling love to only couples on Valentine’s day affecting others when in reality it is the demonstration of an emotion of strong affection and personal attachement. Love is also a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection; and “the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another”. Valentine’s Day should be the celebration of your strong affection to your family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. It’s an International Love for all.
May each one of you enjoy this special day and others to come appreciating the love and warmth one has for each other – Happy Valentine’s Day!
